Baseball

The Boston Red Sox promoted Raquel Ferreira to vice president of baseball administration, Amiel Sawdaye to vice president of amateur and international scouting, Mark Wasinger to special assistant for player personnel, Mike Murov to assistant director of major league operations, Brian Abraham to assistant director of player development, Mike Rikard to director of amateur scouting, Steve Sanders to assistant director of amateur scouting, and Gus Quattlebaum to assistant director of professional and international scouting. The team hired Adrian Lorenzo as a major league staff assistant; Paul Fryer as global crosschecker; Joe McDonald as a baseball operations analyst; Dr. Richard Ginsburg as director of behavioral health program; Jason Bartley as a physical therapist and clinical educator; Bob Tewksbury , Laz Gutierrez and Justin Su’a as mental skills coaches; and Nancy Clark as team nutritionist.

The Los Angeles Dodgers hired Naomi Rodriguez as senior director for external affairs and community relations. Rodriguez was senior director of public affairs, marketing and communications for the nonprofit Los Angeles Universal Preschool.

The Pittsburgh Pirates hired Jamey Carroll as a special assistant to the baseball operations staff.

Minor League Baseball promoted Heather Rabur n to assistant director for account services and Gabe Rendon to manager of sales and account services. The organization hired Kurt Hunzeker to vice president of marketing strategy and Michelle Jurado as an executive assistant.

The Class A South Atlantic League’s Delmarva Shorebirds named Steve Uhlmann communications services coordinator and Benjamin Posner box office manager and a season ticket and group sales representative.

The Class AA Texas League’s Frisco RoughRiders named Jason Dambach executive vice president and general manager. Dambach will also serve as president for the New York-Penn League’s State College Spikes . Both teams are owned by Greenberg Sports Group.

The Class A short season New York-Penn League’s State College Spikes promoted Scott Walker to general manager and Dan Petrazzolo to assistant general manager of operations.

The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball’s St. Paul Saints hired Mark Jeffrey , Casey Odell and Allison Wenker as account executives and Jillian Beard as events manager.

Basketball

The National Basketball Players Association hired Jordan Schlachter as chief marketing officer. Schlachter was executive vice president for The Marketing Arm’s sports marketing and sponsorship consulting practice.

Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets promoted Brian Basloe to executive vice president and chief strategy officer of suites and ticket sales, and Elisa Padilla to chief marketing officer, and hired Bob Lynch as senior vice president of global partnerships. Lynch was vice president of sponsorships and media for the Miami Dolphins.

The Golden State Warriors promoted Brandon Schneider to senior vice president of business development.

The Los Angeles Sparks named Christine Simmons president and chief operations officer. Simmons was executive vice president for Magic Johnson Enterprises.

The American Athletic Conference promoted Chuck Sullivan to assistant commissioner for communications.

Ball State University named Mark Sandy athletic director. Sandy was athletic director at Eastern Kentucky University.

Colorado State University named Ben Lorenzen senior associate athletic director for sales, marketing and communications. Lorenzen was general manager of Learfield Sports’ Rams Sports Properties at Colorado State.

Illinois Wesleyan University Athletic Director Dennie Bridges will retire, effective July 31.

Augie Maurelli was promoted to assistant vice president for finance, analysis and operations for the university.

Wichita State University hired Kevin Weiberg as executive-in-residence for the Department of Sport Management. Weiberg was deputy commissioner for the Pac-12 Conference before retiring last summer.
