Few American athletes have ever dominated a sport the way Ledecky dominates swimming. She is a five-time Olympic champion and has set world records on 14 separate occasions, with many of those wins coming by shocking margins. Ledecky kept sponsors at bay by swimming for Stanford University for two years, but went pro in 2017 and cashed in with a record-breaking, $7 million deal with TYR Sports.
