Turner Construction Co. has been named to “lead work” on a $335M renovation of David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, according to Brian Kaberline of the K.C. BUSINESS JOURNAL. The project will “take the stadium from 47,000 seats to 40,000” and “add more than 100 luxury suites.” Turner has a “long history” with the Univ. of Kansas. It “led work” on the Anderson Family Football Complex, completed in 2008, and has “completed more than 25 projects for the university, including 16 for Kansas Athletics” (K.C. BUSINESS JOURNAL, 8/8). In Topeka, Jordan Guskey notes renovations are “already underway” at the Anderson Family Football Complex. That includes “overhauls of the football team’s locker room and weight room,” but there is “more significant work to come” (TOPEKA CAPITAL-JOURNAL, 8/8).
