Premier League club Everton’s “long-running ownership saga" will end this week when the Friedkin Group’s takeover will be finalized. The Friedkin Group agreed to purchase Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% shareholding in September and the deal has been “ subject to the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test for the past three months.” Now that process is “understood to be near completion.” The group, which also owns Italian Serie A club Roma, is led by billionaire Dan Friedkin, who himself has an estimated worth of $6B. The Friedkin Group comprises “automotive, hospitality, entertainment, sports and adventure companies.” It is understood that Moshiri will “receive some of his investment back, but that total amount will depend on Everton’s future success” (London TIMES, 12/13).
