NEW ORLEANS -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell held his annual Super Bowl press conference Monday night, touching on a variety of topics including future Super Bowls, the league's media rights deals and much more. Goodell tamped down some talk of a Super Bowl outside the U.S., clarifying that the championship would only come if a permanent franchise were located there. He also stopped short of saying it’s "likely" the NFL would exercise their opt-out in the media rights deals when they come up after the 2029 season, but he gave the market every reason to believe they’re anticipating that step. Goodell repeated the NFL’s commitment to diversity amid an intense political backlash to corporate diversity policies. He also noted that Tom Bradyhas demonstrated good faith and takes seriously the separation between his job with Fox Sports and his role as a Raiders limited partner.
