Baseball and softball event operator Perfect Game has developed a discount ticketing program with the Royals, Astros, and Cardinals. The effort will allow Perfect Games baseball and softball teams access to less experiences opportunities to see MLB games.

Tickets will be dispersed through group shopping platform FEVO, which works with primary ticketing providers like Ticketmaster and Paciolan, and the discount opportunities will be shared with athletes and parents via messaging.

Perfect Game CEO Rob Ponger said he hopes that one day his organization, which saw 1.9 million participants pass through the nearly 10,000 events it produces, will have all 30 MLB teams linked to Perfect Game through these programs.

“I hope people do look at us as the youth marketing arm of baseball. Not every kid will be a major league baseball player, but every kid can be a Major League Baseball fan one day. And when you have 1.9 million participants, that means there’s 1.9 million fans out there, plus their parents, plus their siblings, and we encourage them to go watch Major League baseball or minor league baseball, if that’s closer.”

The three cities affiliated with the clubs make complete sense as a starting point for this initiative, Ponger shared. Some of its largest events and baseball playing communities are located in Houston, Kansas City and St. Louis. Perfect Game’s Houston 1000 event featured between 12,000 to 15,000 athletes. Ponger said this discount ticketing initiative fits into a larger mission to funnel more business locally around events and also to Perfect Game sponsors.

Last week, Perfect Game announced vivenu as a ticketing and e-commerce partner, providing a centralized user experience that the diamond sport organizer desperately needed. And to Ponger, it’s all about creating a better user experience and creating more memorable moments along the way. Now at least three MLB teams are in the fold to help that mission. Only 27 more to go, Ponger said.
