Revolution has won an RFP shootout to represent Major League Cricket as the three-year-old T20 league’s first agency of record. The assignment incudes sponsorship, ticket and media sales, marketing/fan development/monetization and digital marketing.

Revolution President John Rowady termed the agency review highly competitive and noted the league’s headway in the U.S. following last year’s inaugural North America T20 Cup, for which Revolution worked on marketing communications and media. Cognizant has been MLC’s title sponsor since 2024.

“Since ’22, they’ve raised over $300 million, and the T20 format is understandable for Americans,” Rowady said. “We’re looking to raise awareness before the [LA28] Olympics and create staying power, because they have the investment funding.”

High-profile MLC investors include Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Adobe Chairman Shantanu Narayen, Rocketship.VC co-founder Anand Rajaraman and Ross Perot Jr. Also drawing attention is that cricket will be included in the 2028 Summer Games after an absence of 128 years from the Olympics.

MLC has six teams that travel as a group bearing the names of city and state locales — L.A., New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Texas and Washington D.C. — and compete across a 34-game schedule mainly at neutral venues — Oakland Coliseum; Grand Prairie Stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas (also the site of league HQ); and Knight Riders Cricket Stadium in Pomona, Calif., a new venue that’s owned by the L.A. team. The league’s fourth season is scheduled to open June 18 in Grand Prairie.
