Penn State “topped off” phase two of three of the $700M Beaver Stadium renovation project Wednesday with the “placement of the final steel beam in the 195-foot-tall expansion of the stadium’s west side,” according to William Bowman of the Sunbury DAILY ITEM. With the last beam in place on top of “what will be the third deck,” the project has “now reached its maximum height, a structural milestone that marks the transition from this complex phase of construction” (Sunbury DAILY ITEM, 6/10). In Pennsylvania, Jon Sauber noted Beaver Stadium renovation is set to be complete “ahead of the 2027 season.” The biggest visible difference is a “structure for new seating that reaches 30 feet higher than what was there previously.” Those bleacher seats are “expected to have fans sitting in them for the 2026 season.” Phase two includes a new bowl sound system, a new north scoreboard, new restrooms on the main concourse on the west side and an expanded east main concourse. The third phase, which will take place “next year ahead of the 2027 season, will see the project’s completion -- including a welcome center, all new premium seating and indoor event space on the west side” (CENTRE DAILY TIMES, 6/8).
