Daytona International Speedway will “return to its role as the host for NASCAR’s season-opening exhibition race” next season after a six-year hiatus, according to sources cited by THE ATHLETIC. The race is slated to be held on Saturday, Feb. 13 -- the day before Super Bowl LXI and a week before the Daytona 500 on Feb. 21. NASCAR shifted the Clash to a purpose-built quarter-mile oval inside the L.A. Memorial Coliseum for three years, then a two-year stint at Bowman Gray Stadium, an existing quarter-mile oval in Winston-Salem, N.C. NASCAR has “not yet unveiled the full 2027 schedule but is hoping to do so in the coming weeks” (THE ATHLETIC, 7/24).
