MLB At Bat Upgrades Unveiled As Part Of New Apple TV Rollout

A new Apple TV was unveiled today at a company event in S.F. The product features a redesigned operating system with a more mobile-like interface, a touch-screen remote and voice-activated Siri search across various content apps. MLBAM was a featured part of the presentation, with Senior VP/Mobile Product Development Chad Evans giving a demo of a new MLB At Bat app that will feature HD video at 60 frames per second -- twice the prior level. Other new functionality for At Bat includes split-screen for games, notifications and live data sync with the broadcast.

Meanwhile, BAM Tech will deploy many of the same advanced features in its development work for a new NHL GameCenter Live set to debut in '16. BAM Tech is rebuilding GameCenter Live as part of its partnership with the NHL. The new Apple TV hardware will be released to retail in late October.
