In-person attendance reached new heights but TV ratings were down slightly for this past weekend's Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship, won for the fourth straight year by Cal. Organizers reported two-day attendance at Talon Energy Park of 27,224, up 11% from '15. The tournament posted a 0.4 overnight rating on Saturday on NBC, down from last year, and a 0.5 on Sunday, even with last year, each two-hour coverage windows. NBC used the event to extensively promote its coverage of the Rio Games and rugby’s return to the program.
