Trump: LIV Golf should buy its own TV network

MIAMI -- The biggest question hovering over LIV Golf as it concludes its inaugural season this weekend at Trump National Doral is whether it will secure a media rights deal before its second season. When SBJ asked former President Trump, who was playing in today's LIV pro-am, when the Saudi-backed entity will get a rights deal, he said, “I don’t know. Honestly, you know what? They will just buy their own network. Yeah, they’ll buy their own network.”

During his round, Trump made occasional stops to sign autographs and talk with well-wishers. Two of LIV’s eight events -- this week's season finale and the July stop in Bedminster, N.J. -- have been staged at Trump properties. He has aligned himself with LIV Golf and has encouraged players to sign lucrative contracts and defect from the PGA Tour.
