The 76ers and Pennsylvania-based Chaddsford Winery have released the first of a three-bottle set of wines commemorating the franchise's three NBA titles. The first wine in the "Banner Series" is dedicated to the '82-83 championship team and priced at $24.99. Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Sixers Youth Foundation ( Terry Lefton, Editor-at-Large ). In Philadelphia, John George notes the wine honoring the '66-67 team "will be introduced at the start of the upcoming season," and the final wine honoring the '54-55 Syracuse Nationals "will be introduced in the spring." The team is "limiting production to 76 cases for each wine in the series." 76ers Senior VP/Corporate Development & Activation Chad Biggs said that the team was "originally thinking about producing a wine as part of is efforts to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary" of the '66-67 championship team, "then decided to expand the effort to include all three teams in franchise history to win championships." The Phillies and Flyers "have entered into similar partnerships with Chaddsford Winery" ( BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/19 ).
