The U.S. Ski & Snowboarding Association will announce today it has added Solitude Mountain Resort as the third venue for the '19 FIS Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships. Solitude will host snowboardcross and ski cross events in the multi-disciplinary event. Deer Valley and Park City mountain resorts, previously announced venues, will host other contests. The USSA will operate a test event at Solitude on Jan. 19-22, which will constitute the second stop on the U.S. Grand Prix tour for the '16-17 season. The Solitude resort, acquired by Deer Valley last year, is about an hour closer to downtown Salt Lake City than the other two venues. “Kind of an odd situation geographically, but will open up significant major market promotion,” said USSA VP/Communications Tom Kelly.
