The End Of The Road: ESPN To Conclude 18-Year Run Of "Mike & Mike" In November

ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike" will "conclude its nearly 18-year run on Nov. 17" and replace it 10 days later with the new Mike Golic-Trey Wingo morning show, according to Rob Tornoe of PHILLY.com. "Golic & Wingo" will continue in the 6:00-10:00am ET slot and will "initially be simulcast on ESPN2 before moving to ESPNU in early January." Listeners beginning today got a "taste of how well Golic and Wingo pair together," as the two host "Mike & Mike" together for the rest of the week (PHILLY.com, 7/17). In N.Y., Mark Sanchez noted ESPN's Mike Greenberg following the conclusion of "Mike & Mike" will be "off the air until Jan. 1, 2018, when his morning TV show will begin." The late November date "appears to represent a slightly accelerated breakup" for Greenberg and Golic, as SI reported in May that the show’s "contractual end is in December" (NYPOST.com, 7/17).
