Venue operator SMG has been awarded a "Developmental Testing and Evaluation Designation" from the Department of Homeland Security for its “security policies and procedures, services, controls, systems and structural, physical, and technological security measures designed to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate acts of terrorism at U.S. Bank Stadium,” according to documents made public on Thursday by the DHS. This award will expire on Feb. 29, 2020. The recognition gives SMG limited-liability protection in case a DHS-designated act of terrorism should happen at the site.
