Former Panthers President Morrison To Run Charlotte Sports Foundation

Former NFL Panthers President DANNY MORRISON has been named the new Exec Dir of the Charlotte Sports Foundation, a nonprofit that "recruits high-profile sporting events to the region," according to Katherine Peralta of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. Morrison, who "assumes his new role May 1," succeeds WILL WEBB. For the last few years, Morrison, formerly Wofford AD, has taught in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sports Management department at the Univ. of South Carolina. He will now be tasked with "bringing major sporting events to Charlotte," and specifically to Bank of America Stadium. Morrison, who previously served on the foundation’s board, said that he will "grow relationships with college sports officials by visiting ACC and SEC offices, meeting with athletic directors and visiting college campuses around the Carolinas" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 1/30).
