FlightScope uses 3D Doppler radars and computer vision for ball tracking and is best known for its work in golf and tennis. As part of the acquisition, IMG Arena stated its intention to invest resources and broaden the use cases of FlightScope Services to soccer, basketball, volleyball, and major U.S. sports.
IMG Arena and FlightScope began collaborating in 2013 and co-developed the system used to track every golf shot on the European Tour within millimeters and in real time, leading to the creation of newer betting options. IMG Arena is the
FlightScope, which has headquarters in Orlando, will continue to operate independently as a provider of tracking technology products for professionals and consumers; FlightScope Services, which is based in Gliwice, Poland, will be fully integrated into IMG Arena’s business.
