Genius Sports and Football DataCo, the data rights holder for the top tiers of UK soccer, have extended their partnership through the 2024-2025 season and expanded it to use Second Spectrum technology at every venue and match of the Championship League. The agreement is inclusive of betting data distribution for the English Premier League, the English Football League (the second, third and fourth levels of the pyramid) and the Scottish Professional Football League.
Genius-owned Second Spectrum has been the official tracking data partner of the Premier League since 2020 and will continue in that capacity for two more seasons, as well as now provide its limb-tracking technology throughout the second tier as well. The limb- (or skeletal-) tracking launched in the EPL during the 2022-23 season. That data and the company’s proprietary analytics will be made available to teams and broadcasters.
