Location: Knoxville, Tenn.
Vendor: 4Topps
Client: University of Tennessee
Cost: Leased or bought, with prices ranging from $1,500 to $4,500 per unit
The issue: College athletics’ need for quick and flexible revenue-generation that can be moved all over campus.
Gist of the structure: This is one of the smallest “structures” we’ve included in the Great Ideas package — a table top for four — but it can be set up in less than 30 minutes.
The base is a pre-drilled, half-inch-thick, marine-grade polymer plastic platform that’s drilled into whatever surface it’s sitting upon. The chairs and tables are then mounted to the base, making this product viable in any of the open concourse or sideline spaces that dot many college athletics venues, regardless of sport.
Flip-up swivel seats enable fans to enter and exit their seats without disrupting other fans. And the mesh seat backs and table tops provide real estate for branding, opening sponsorship possibilities.
Noteworthy: The ease of setup means the loge box can be moved to different sports venues within the same campus, using dollies, a pallet jack or forklift. Wake Forest, James Madison, Texas State, Miami (Ohio), and Tulsa are also making new money off unused space with this product.
