Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone is in "advanced
negotiations" to sell 75% of his stake in the league to
EM.TV & Merchandising, according to sources of Caspar-Peter
Busse Handlesblatt of the WALL STREET JOURNAL. Last October
'99, Morgan Grenfell Private Equity, an investment arm of
Deutsche Bank, paid $325M for 12.5% of Formula One's
ultimate holding company, SLEC Holding. Deutsche Bank "also
took an option to buy an additional" 37.5% of SLEC. The
size of Morgan Grenfell's investment "suggests" that Formula
One's "total value" is now $2.6B (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 2/9).
